COVID-19: 124 travelers among 536 fresh cases; J&K tally mounts to 26,949 | KNO

Srinagar, Aug 13 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Thursday recorded 536 fresh cases of deadly Covid-19 including 124 travelers, taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 26,949. Of the total number of cases in J&K, 20,899 are from Kashmir and 6,050 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that among 536 new cases, 438 belong to Kashmir division while as 98 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 20,899 including 14,991 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 6,050 including 4,311 recoveries and 39 deaths. They said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,138 including 5,438 from Kashmir division and 1,700 from Jammu division. With 779 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 19,302 which is 71.62 percent of the total cases. Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 6,577 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 6,050. J&K UT has so far recorded 505 deaths due to the Covid-19 pandemic of which 468 were reported in Kashmir and 37 in Jammu region. "Cases tested positive in J&K include 144 from Srinagar, 46 from Baramulla, 33 from Pulwama, 14 from Kulgam, 08 from Shopian, 16 from Anantnag, 36 from Budgam, 46 from Kupwara, 54 from Bandipora and 41 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 98 from Jammu division include 49 from Jammu, 03 from Rajouri, 03 from Ramban, 10 from Kuthua, 08 from Samba, 03 from Doda, 05 from Poonch, 15 from Reasi and 01 from Kishtiwar," officials disclosed. As per officials figures, 6,577 positive cases including 163 deaths and 4,378 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,303 including 86 deaths and 1,694 recoveries are from Baramulla, 1,983 including 1,373 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Pulwama,1,674 including 1,440 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,545 including 24 deaths and 1,417 recoveries are from Shopian, 1,680 including 35 deaths and 1,302 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1,677 including 1,154 recoveries and 38 deaths are from Budgam, 1,394 including 1,091 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,251 including 691 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Bandipora and 815 including 451 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 1,776 including 1026 recoveries and 27 deaths are from Jammu district, 774 including 585 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Rajouri, 619 including 571 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 636 including 535 recoveries and 01 death are from Kathua, 634 including 461 recoveries and two deaths are from Udhampur, 541 including 375 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 327 including 288 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 310 including 198 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Poonch, 257 including 118 recoveries are from Reasi and 176 including 153 recoveries are from Kishtwar. As per the daily information bulletin, 406,537 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 42,231 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7,138 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 308,105 persons have completed surveillance period and 48,554 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 763,211 samples are available. Out of 763,211 the number of samples tested negative stands at 736,262 while 26,949 have been tested positive, among them 7,138 are active and 19,302 persons have recovered—(KNO)
